My first forge was a hole in the dirt, powered by a hairdryer. My first "blade" was a half melted RR spike I was absurdly proud of. If you have a desire to get into this craft, don't wait until you have all the money and tools in the world to start. If you want to truly grow and learn, not only will you have to begin at whatever level you're at, you will also need to rely on others who are learning with you. Backyard Bladesmiths is where you can connect with not only myself, but smiths from around the world at all levels all in pursuit of the same thing.
