Welcome serious learner of Cantonese! 🤗

It's pretty simple -- I'm here to teach you Cantonese the way I learned it back in 1988 when I moved to Hong Kong. No gimmicks, no overwhelm, just good, solid learning from someone who learned it themselves (me) and knows how to teach it (and answer your questions!).

You'll love it here if you love :

✅ learning not only Cantonese, but also Hong Kong's history and culture, as well as what it's like to live with a Chinese family.

✅ going down rabbit holes on the meaning of words; connections between them; why it is the way it is, etc.

✅ are open to using Yale phonetics (good for beginners) supplemented by Jyutping (because it's THE online phonetic system)

You might not love it here if you:

❌ want to learn the latest slang, or a way to speak to look 😎 on IG (I'm not cool)

❌ like having a million things thrown at you for learning (overwhelm to me)

❌ don't want to learn with Yale
