As artists we are focused on the art. We're taught to focus on the art. Everybody only ever talks about the art. Nobody talks about the business to make that art sell.
That's what we're doing here.
Since pivoting to focus on treating my performance work like a business, I've gone from earning a bit of money here and there to grossing 50k last financial year with repeat customers booking my shows.
That is in just 10 weeks of performance time at a 45% sell through. So there is plenty of room to grow.
This community is a space for us to talk about the product that we're creating, developing our art alongside developing the audience to sell our art to.
You can either be a struggling artist or you can take the steps to being sell out (and not a sellout) and talk about sales, marketing, product development and audience development.
If you are just focussed on the art, this is not the place for you.
