After practicing law in private practice for 27 years, I saw a consistent gap between law school and law firm practice. The gap was billing.
Law school teaches you how to think like a lawyer, but it does not teach you how to bill like one. Yet billing affects evaluations, bonuses, advancement, and confidence in practice. Early in my career, I tried to understand this system and asked questions, but very few people were willing to explain it. Over time, I realized many attorneys were expected to figure it out on their own.
I created this community to close that gap. This is a place where we are not playing games or keeping secrets. We are openly teaching the practical skills that help attorneys describe their work clearly, demonstrate legal judgment, and avoid common billing problems.
