Sage Radiation Safety – Texas is a practical, self-paced certification course for veterinary technicians and veterinarians who operate or assist with X-ray and CT equipment. Designed for real-world clinical use, this course covers radiation biology, cumulative exposure risk, deterministic vs stochastic effects, and the core principles of time, distance, and shielding. You’ll learn how technique choices (kVp, mAs, collimation, positioning) directly impact dose, image quality, and repeat rates. The program also reviews equipment terminology, workflow expectations, dosimetry, PPE use, and essential Texas compliance requirements. With video lessons, knowledge checks, and a final exam, this course provides clear, actionable training to help you reduce exposure, avoid costly mistakes, and protect yourself, your team, and your patients. Participants who pass a 50 question multiple choice final test will receive a certificate of completion and 3 hours of RACE-approved CE.
